USA – land of freedom, cowboys, hollywood, IT dream destination for India.
Canada – Caucasian Punjabi Land – Mountys, Friendlies, Amicables, Home of Gurinder Chaddha
Australia – Land of Racism, Indinas get killed, Rough People etc;
All thats changing coz of one TV show??? :O
Well theres one pop-media show called #MasterChefAsutraila / #MasterChefAU / @MasterChefAU which seems to do cultural/soft marketing better than so many years of cultural/news media education that the American bollywood Industry is doing or the Canadian “am the second home to indie–punjus” is doing!
While MC – Australia projects skill, talent and polite/warm – nurturing on the part of Master Chef Australia…Master Chef USA is on the other spectrum. While one (Australia) seems like a considerate/polite/sensitive version the other (master Chef USA) seems like the Big Boss – India version (crude/cruel/obnoxious).
While Master Chef Canada is most interestingly caught in-between. While its DNA seems to be more mounty-polite& similar to australia, it seems to be enamoured by the obnoxious-extravangance & rudeness of its neighbour he USA.
The way the gurus & the contestants deal with each other in #MasterChefUSA is vastly different from #MasterChefAU. When Gary/Matt/George are rude we find them polite while the everything that the MasterChefUSA gurus say seems so gross. Why are the contestants so bitchy and so malicious?!.
Why do the contestants of MasterChefAU seem so amicable, talented and friendly?…for an average India who though Australia to be racist…this single show changes the perceptions so much that u question whether the Indians in Oye Oye land are to clanist and dont mingle enough with the lovable aussies of the #MasterChefAU kinds…
Thats the power of “soft” or cultural marketing!
#CIA #FBI AND the #ForeignRelationsOfAmerica need to understand that MasterChefUSA is the Bush equivalent of imagery of America being projected to the rest of the world and needs to really stop portraying such a trashy image.
In all of this again like usual Master Chef India is confused and caught between aping the western culinary culture and the indian explosion of senses via a sense of taste!
Food, apart from sex is perhaps the only other thing that involves all the 5 senses…its high time both Bollywood & Hollywood understood how 5 senses of food is not just entertainment -but is also politics, economics and most importantly cultural marketing of a nation!!
